DARTINGTON, a parish in the hundred of STANBOROUGH, county of DEVON, 2 miles (N. by W.) from Totness, containing 602 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Totness, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £36. 4. 4½. The trustees of A. Champernowne, Esq., a minor, were patrons in 1799. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
