North Devon: A Pictorial Introduction
By E. Millmore
Tunbridge Wells, Kent: Kentgravure, (1960)
Indexed by Michael Steer
An attractive booklet, priced at two shillings and sixpence, produced as part of the Westcountry's tourism industry. It presents beautifully reproduced (art quality) black and white photographs of North Devon scenes taken in the 1950's. Here can be found all the traditional favourites, for example, the Clovelly donkeys, Bideford Bridge, Lynton, Lynmouth and the Doone Valley. The photographs are particularly remarkable since motor cars are absent from all except one of them.
