DITTISHAM, a parish in the hundred of COLERIDGE,county of DEVON, 5½ miles (N. by W.) fromDartmouth, containing 704 inhabitants. The living is arectory, in the archdeaconry of Totness, and diocese ofExeter, rated in the king's books at £34.15, and in the patronage of ViscountValletort. The church, dedicatedto St. George, has a richly sculptured stone pulpit.The parish, which is remarkable for the beauty of itsscenery, is crossed by the navigable river Dart, overwhich there is a ferry.
