Hulham Manor: a sketch historical and economic

Trans. Devon. Assoc. vol. 27, (1895), illus. pp. 404-436.

by

O.J. Reichel

Prepared by Michael Steer

Hulham, anciently called Holdeham is a small manor in the northern part of the ancient Chapelry of Withycombe Raleigh, within the parish of East Budleigh. The paper, read at the Association's 1895 Okehampton meeting treats with the early history of the place, providing a brief historical sketch from the time of Edward VI to the 19th century, and draws conclusions about the economic condition of Hulham in past times. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the University of Michigan Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
