WORLINGTON (EAST), a parish in the hundred of WITHERIDGE, county of DEVON, 6 miles (E.) from Chulmleigh, containing 253 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Barnstaple, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £7. 15. 10., and in the patronage of the Hon. N. Fellowes. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. In the neighbourhood are the remains of an ancient cross. Roman coins have been found here.
