The obituary was read at the Association’s July 1905 Princetown meeting. Ludbrooke Manor House, the Rev. Bartlet’s residence, is an impressive mansion with an embattled tower, situated on an eminence overlooking the surrounding countryside, about one mile from Modbury. The manor of Ludbrooke and Barton had for many generations been in the possession of his ancestors, the Moysey family. Ermington’s parish church of S.S. Peter & Paul has a stained window inserted by the late Rev. Bartlet. The ancient manor house is today a popular venue for wedding receptions. The obituary, from a copy of a rare and much sought-after journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
