This is the last Will and Testament of me Benjamin Bowring of Exeter Gentleman I give and bequeath unto my niece Anne Bowring and to my friends Charles Bowring the Elder of Saint Leonards in the County of Devon Merchant and Bartholomew Parr Pope of the same place Gentleman the sum of ffifty pounds each I give and bequeath unto Mrs Hannah Gove and Mrs Matilda Wyatt the sum of nineteen Guineas each as a small acknowledgement to them of their kind attention to me duing my illness and to Mary Linford who has also attended me during my illness the sum of ffive pounds Also I give and bequeath unto James Bowden of Paris Street Exeter Schoolmaster the sum of Ten Pounds and to his Nieces Sarah Bowden and Susan Lake the sum of Ten Pounds each All the aforesaid Legacies to be paid by my Executors hereinafter named immediately after my decease I give and bequeath unto my Nephew Samuel Bowring and Edward Lawford of Drapers Hall London Gentleman their Executors Administrators and Assigns all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my monies and securities for money property personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever Upon the trusts and to and for the intents and purposes hereinafter mentioned that is to say Upon Trust that they the said Trustees and the survivor of them his Executors Administrators and Assigns do and shall in the first place call in and receive all monies owing to me and sell and convert into money all such of my property Personal Estate and Effects as may not consist of money at the time of my decease and in the next place do and shall thereout and therewith pay and discharge all my just debts ffuneral and testamentary expences and the expences attending the execution of this my Will And then upon trust that they the said Trustees and the survivor of them his Executors Administrators and Assigns do and shall stand possessed of the surplus or residue of my said property Estate and Effects Upon Trust as to one sixth part (the whole of such surplus or residue into six equal parts to be considered as divided) to pay the same one sixth part unto my niece Maria (the wife of the said Edward Lawford) to whom I give the same absolutely And as to the other sixth part of such surplus or residue (the whole to be considered as aforesaid) Upon Trust to pay the same one sixth part unto my said niece Sarah (the wife of Mr John Lawford) ) to whom I give the same absolutely And as to the other sixth part of such surplus or residue (the whole to be considered as aforesaid) Upon Trust to pay the same one sixth part unto my said niece Ann Bowring to whom I give the same absolutely And I do declare the same to be in addition to the Legacy of ffifty pounds I have hereinbefore bequeathed And as to the remaining three sixth parts of such parts or residue (the whole to be considered as aforesaid) Upon Trust to pay the same three sixths parts unto my nephew the said Samuel Bowring to whom I give the same absolutely And I do appoint the said Samuel Bowring and Edward Lawford Executors in Trust of this Will And I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventeenth day of ffebruary in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty six The Mark and Seal X of Benjamin Bowring
