Twentieth Report of the Committee on Devonshire Folklore

by

P.F.S Amery (Ed.)

Trans. Devon Assoc., vol.  XXXV, (1903), pp. 132-139.

Prepared by Michael Steer

The Report was received at the Association’s July 1903 Sidmouth meeting. It records several interesting notes and scraps of folk-lore received by the Committee since the last Association meeting. These relate to a charm for seizures, an observance of a quaint wedding custom, and several notices of old customs, sayings, and beliefs. There are two notices relating to witchcraft. The report, from a copy of a rare and much sought-after journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
