Twent-second Report of the Committee on Devonshire Folklore

by

P.F.S Amery (Ed.)

Trans. Devon Assoc., Vol. XXXVII, (1905), pp. 111-121.

Prepared by Michael Steer

The Report was received at the Association’s July 1904 Teignmouth meeting. It presents a pot pourri of interesting notes and scraps of folk-lore from all over the County, received by the Committee since its 1904 meeting. The Committee’s chairperson in his introduction expressed the hope that more notes of rural life and customs, for example, those mentioned in the report from Lustleigh, would be forthcoming, as every year, he thought, lessened the chances of the Committee receiving them. The report, from a copy of a rare and much sought-after journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
