Twent-third Report of the Committee on Devonshire Folklore

by

P.F.S Amery (Ed.)

Trans. Devon Assoc., Vol. XXXVIII, (1906), pp. 87-100.

Prepared by Michael Steer

The Report was received at the Association’s July 1906 Lynton meeting. It provides a cornucopia of interesting notes and scraps of folk-lore from all over the County, received by the Committee since its last meeting. These are on a wide variety of subjects, but most relate to healing charms and associated customs. The names of contributors are attached to the reports for verification and authority attribution. The report, from a copy of a rare and much sought-after journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
