Eleventh Report (Second Series) of the Committee on the Climate of Devon.

Trans. Devon Assoc., 1893, Vol XXV, pp. 212-217.

by

P.F.S. Amery.

Prepared by Michael Steer

The Report was presented at the Association’s July 1893 Torquay meeting. The numerically diminished Committee had collected and tabulated an abstract of meteorological observations taken in the preceding year, relating to rainfall, temperature, humidity, and cloud, by several experienced persons scattered throughout Devon, claiming that their comparison afforded a better idea of the climatic variations in the different districts than any generalization might. This index provides a record of those observers participating in the project and identifies their observation stations. The Secretary referred to the death of Mr. Edward Parfitt, of Exeter, who had been a member for many years.
The Report, from a copy of a rare journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
