Sixteenth Report (Third Series) of the Committee on the Climate of Devon.
Trans. Devon Assoc., 1898, Vol XXX, pp. 80-89.
by
Alfred Chandler, F.R. Met. Soc., Honorary Secretary.
Prepared by Michael Steer
The Report was presented at the Association’s August 1898 Honiton meeting. A numerically diminished Committee had collected and tabulated meteorological observations taken in the preceding year. These data related to rainfall, temperature, humidity, and cloud. This index provides a record of the observer team participating in the project and identifies their observation stations. A new Rainfall Station was established this year, through the kindness of Mr. J. R. T. Kingwell, at South Brent. Observations taken for so long at the Athenaeum, Barnstaple, are included for the first time. Also included are the important Rainfall Stations at Tottiford and Head Weir Reservoirs.
The Report, from a copy of a rare journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
