On Earthquakes in Devonshire Supplement
Trans. Devon Assoc., 1885, Vol XVII, pp. 281-284.
by
Edward Parfitt
Prepared by Michael Steer
Parts of Devonshire have from time immemorial been shaken by earthquakes. This supplement to Mr. Parfitt’s paper, read at the Association’s July 1885 Seaton meeting focusses mainly on reports from correspondents on a number of Devon earthquake shocks omitted from his previous presentations and papers. The article, from a copy of a rare and much sought-after journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
