F.J. Snell. Memorials of Old Devonshire.

London: Bemrose and Sons Limited (1904)

Provided by Michael Steer

The author states that "the object of the present volume is to present what might be termed a history of Devon in episode. In selecting the subjects for the various articles comprised in this work, the Editor's aim has been to single out such as may be expected, for different reasons, to appeal to all Devonians, and perhaps to some unconnected with the beautiful shire. The majority of the articles have been written expressly for the present work, but three have been reproduced in shortened form, from the Transactions of the Devonshire Association, in which they have been published many years ago, and so were in danger of being forgotten".
