The paper, presented at the Association's July 1875 Torrington is possibly the precursor of Pengelly's 'Gleanings' series. His aim was to provide a permanent record of facts relating to Devonshire that were not of sufficient importance in themselves to be considered subjects of separate papers. The paper is presented in the following sections: 1. Archaeology, 2.Meteoric, and 3. Oceanic. The first nine of this collection of "waifs & strays" are memoranda of 'finds' made by Mr Heineken since the Sidmouth meeting in 1874, the 10th and 11th were submitted by Mr George Pycoft. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use.
