Memoranda. Part I

Trans. Devon. Assoc., vol 7 (1875), pp. 197-202.

by

W. Pengelly

Prepared by Michael Steer

The paper, presented at the Association's July 1875 Torrington is possibly the precursor of Pengelly's 'Gleanings' series. His aim was to provide a permanent record of facts relating to Devonshire that were not of sufficient importance in themselves to be considered subjects of separate papers. The paper is presented in the following sections: 1. Archaeology, 2.Meteoric, and 3. Oceanic. The first nine of this collection of "waifs & strays" are memoranda of 'finds' made by Mr Heineken since the Sidmouth meeting in 1874, the 10th and 11th were submitted by Mr George Pycoft. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the New York Public Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
