Miscellaneous Devonshire Gleanings, Part II

Trans. Devon. Assoc., vol 13 (1881), pp. 131-149.

W. Pengelly

Prepared by Michael Steer

The paper, read at the Association's June 1881 Dawlish meeting is a compendium or rather a 'potpourri' of "gleanings"; items of general interest to Association members, many of which are copied from the MS notebook of Mr Octavian Blewitt of Torquay. Mr Blewitt was author of the 'Panorama of Torquay' and made his notebook freely available to the paper's author. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the Princeton University Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
