Bulley and Jerrard (or Jellard) families

Devon & Cornwall Notes & Queries 11:8, (1921) pp. 304-305.

Hugh R. Watkin

Prepared by Michael Steer

The author explores several intricacies in (a) the Bulley of Ipplepen family tree, drawing his information from several old wills and indentures. And (b) the Gerard family, which was established at Totnes as early as 1413, with John Gerard documented as warden of the parish church there in 1431- That name spelled Jerard (or Jellard), according to Watkin, appears to be most unusual. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. The copy of this rare book is held in the collection of Albert William Bryant Messenger, and is available from the Internet Archive.
