LANGTREE, a parish in the hundred of SHEBBEAR,county of DEVON, 3¼ miles (S. W. from Great Torrington,containing 778 inhabitants. The living is a rectory,in the archdeaconry of Bamstaple, and diocese of Exeter,rated in the king's books at £29. 1. 3., and in the patronageof Lord Rolle. There was formerly a chapel atCross Hill in this parish.
