Appeared personally Elizabeth Richards of Lapford in the County of Devon widow one of the Executrixes named in the Last Will and Testament of Grace Challice late of Lapford in the County of Devon Spinster deceased Who died on the thirtieth Day of October 1834 and made Oath, that she hath made diligent search and due enquiry after, and in respect of the Personal Estate and Effects of the said Deceased, in order to ascertain the full amount and Value thereof; and that to the best of her knowledge, information, and belief, the whole of the Goods, Chattels, and Credits, of which the said Deceased died, possessed within the Diocese of Exeter (exclusive of what the Deceased may have been possessed of, or entitled to as a Trustee for any other Person or Persons, and not beneficially, but including the Leasehold Estates for Years of the Deceased, whether absolute or determinable on Lives, and without deducting anything on account of the Debts due and owing from the Deceased, are under the Value of Two Hundred pounds to the best of this Deponents Knowledge, Information, and Belief. By this my last Will & Testament I Grace Challice of Lapford in the County of Devon spinster Do Give devise and bequeath of my worldly Estate and Effects as follows That is to say First I do hereby give unto my niece Ann Smerdon the sum of five pounds Also I give unto George Smerdon son of the sd Ann Smerdon the sum of ten pounds to be paid to him as soon as he shall be Twenty one years of Age Also I Give unto my Good Friend John Challice of Ash in Morchard Bishop Yeoman the Sum of Twenty pounds In trust for my Nephew John Challice of Lapford aforsd and also Twenty pounds in Trust for my Nephew Robert Challice of Lapford aforsd and my Will is that my sd Trustee his Executors Administrators or Assigns do & shall place the sd two sums of twenty pounds in the Savings bank at Exeter and also do & shall pay the Interest thereof Yearly and every year to my said nephews John & Robert as my said Trustees shall judge proper & any of the sd principal Money as he or they may judge necessary at his & their Discretion and if either of them my sd Nephews shall happen to die leaving no Issue born under Wedlock then in such Case I hereby Give and Bequeath the share of part of the sd Sum of Twenty pounds remaining of him so dying unto the Survivor of them to be applied to his use as my sd trustees may see proper and if both of them my sd Nephews shall happen to die without Issue born under wedlock before the whole of the said Sums of Twenty pounds & its Interest shall have been paid or applied as aforsd Then upon Trust to pay the Residue & Remainder thereof unto my nephew Samuel Challice to his use Absolutely. The sd Sums of Twenty pounds each to be paid to any sd Trustee within Six Months after my decease. Also to my said Nephew Samuel Challice I Give the Sum of Twenty Pounds Also I Give unto each of the Children of my sd Nephew Samuel Challice the Sum of One pound Also I Give to Mary Ann Josling & Richard Josling Children of my late Niece Elizabeth Josling the Sum of five pounds to each of them Also to my Nephew William Challice I Give the Sum of One pound Also to my Nephew Thomas Richards & to his Children I Give one pound to each of them Also to Mary Ann Challice Daughter of my said Nephew William Challice I Give the Sum of five pounds Also I Give unto the four Brothers of the said Mary Ann Challice to witt Samuel, George, William & Thomas the Sum of One Pound to each of them Also I Give to my Niece Elizabeth Northcott & each of her Children the Sum of One pound to each of them Also I Give to each of my Nieces Ann Challice and Harriet May the Sum of five pounds Also I Give to each of the Children of my sd nieces Ann Challice and Harriet May the Sum of One Pound Also to my Nephews X Peter Richards and William Richards and each of their Children I Give the Sum of One Pound Also to my Niece Charlotte Murch & each of her Children I Give the Sum of One pound Also to Richard Challice & George Challice now living with with my Brother Samuel Challice & their Sister Ann Challice I Give the Sum of five pounds to each of them Also to their Mother Grace Challice I Give the Sum of One pound Also to my Nephew John Richards I Give one pound All the Rest Residue & Remainder of my Goods Chattels & Effects of what nature or kind soever After payment of my just Debts Legacies funeral charges & proving this my Will I Give & Bequeath the Same unto my sisters Elizabeth Richards and Thomazin Kelland to be equally divided between them share and share alike I will & direct that all the said Legacies shall be paid to the sd Legatees within six months after my death unless otherwise ordered in this my will I hereby order that the Parents of the said Children shall respectively be Trustees for them during their minorities respectively And I herebt constitute & appoint my said sisters Elizabeth Richards & Thomazin Kelland to be Joint Executrix's of this my last will and Testament In Witness whereas I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Twelfth day of March One thousand eight hundred & thirty three
