Appeared personally Thomazin Kelland of the Parish of Lapford in the County of Devon widow the
Executrix named in the last Will and Testament of Samuel Challice late of the Parish of Lapford aforesaid Yeoman Bachelor deceased he late Brother
who died on the twenty fourth Day of July 1833
and made oath that she hath made diligent search and due enquiry after, and in respect of the Personal Estate and Effects of the said Deceased, in order to ascertain the full Amount and Value thereof; and that to the best of her knowledge, information, and belief, the whole of the Goods, Chattels, and Credits, of which the said Deceased died, possessed within the Diocese of Exeter, (exclusive of what the Deceased may have been possessed of, or intitled to as a Trustee for any other Person or Persons, and not beneficially, including the Leashold Estates for Years of the Deceased, whether absolute of determinable on Lives, and without deducting any Thing on Account of the Debts due and owing from the Deceased, are under the value of Three hundred Pounds to the best of her this Deponent's Knowledge, Information and Belief.

In the Name of God Amen. I Samuel Challice of Lapford in the County of Devon [?] Do make and ordain this my last will & testament in manner following that is to say First I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping and believing a remission of my sins thro' the merits and mediation of my Blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ my worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me. I do give and bequeath as follows that is to say First I give devise & bequeath unto my sister Thomazin Kelland all those my fields blocks of land & premises situate in Lapford which I lately purchased of Thomas Morris to hold the same premises to her during her natural life and from & immediately after her decease I give & devise the same premises to my nephew Samuel Challice to hold the same to him & his heirs for ever. Also to my sister Elizabeth Richards I Give the sum of twenty pounds to be paid to her within one year next after my decease Also to my niece Ann Smerdon I give the sum of twenty pounds to be paid to her within one year next after my decease Also I hearby give unto George Smerdon son of my sd niece Ann Smerdon the sum of twenty pounds to be paid to him as soon as he shall attain the age of twenty one years and the interest thereof in the mean time before he attains that age shall be paid towards his maintenance & education Also to my nephew William Richards I give the sum of fifty pounds to be paid to him within two years next after my decease Also to my nephew Thomas Richards I give the sum of twenty pounds to be paid to be paid [sic] to him within two years after my decease Also to my nephew Peter Richards I give the sum of ten pounds to be paid to him within one year next after my death Also to my nephew John Richards I give ten pounds to be paid to him within one year after my death Also to my nieces Elizabeth Northcott Charlotte Murch & Harriet May I give the sum of twenty pounds to each of them Also to my niece Ann Challice I give ten pounds Also to Richard Challice now living with me I give the sum of one hundred pounds to be paid to him within one month next after the decease of my said sister Thomazin Kelland Also I give unto George Challice brother of the said Richard Challice the sum of one hundred pounds to be paid to him also within one month next after the decease of my said sister Thomazin Kelland All the rest residue and remainder of my goods chattels & effects of what nature or kind soever after payment of my just debts legacies funeral charges & proving of this my Will I give & bequeath the same unto my said sister Thomazin Kelland to her use absolutely And lastly I hereby nominate and appoint the said Thomazin Kelland to be the sole Executrix of this my last Will & Testament in witness whereof I have hereunder set my hand & seal this twelfth day of March One thousand eight hundred and thirty two
