LOXHORE

"LOXHORE, a parish in the hundred of Sherwill, county Devon, 5½ miles N.E. of Barnstaple, its post town, and nearest railway station on the North Devon line of railway. It is a small agricultural village. The living is a rectory in the dioc, of Exeter, value £177. The church is a stone structure, dedicated to St. Michael. The charities amount to about £1 per annum. There is a parochial school. Sir J. P. B. Chichester, Bart., is lord of the manor."
