Mrs Cole was born at Milton Abbot in 1793 and was brought up by her father at Broadwood-widger, where she as converted to Methodism in 1809, and later became a Bible Christian. She, her husband and six or seven children embarked for Canada in 1832, where they settled in Bowmanville, Ontario and bought a large farm, She became a leader among the Bible Christians, dying in 1865. Mrs Clarke, whose maiden name was Bird, was born at Chawleigh in 1785. Her family was active in the Ringsash Circuit. She moved to Exeter, then to Morchard Bishop where she married Mr J Clarke. The Clarke's were very active in the Lapford area. She died in 1865. This rare book was produced from a digital copy held by the Bodleian Library that can be downloaded from Google Books.
