The under-mentioned Persons claiming the Benefit of the Act lately passed for the Relief of Insolvent Debtors, the following Notices have been brought to the Printer of the London Gazette, to be inserted in this Paper, and are herein inserted in Obedience to the said Act.

London Gazette - Issue 7693 published on the 15 April 1738

The following Persons being Fugitives for Debt, and beyond the Seas on the first of January 1736, and having surrendred themselves to the Keeper of the Sheriff's Ward or Prison in and for the County of Devon, hereby give Notice, that they intend to take the Benefit of the late Act of Parliament made for Relief of Insolvent Debtors, at the next General or Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be held for the County of Devon, at the Castle of Exeter, or at the Adjournment that shall happen next after Thirty Days from the Publication hereof, viz.
Richard Downs, late of Exon, Cordwainer. John James, late of Totnes, Husbandman.

The following Person being a Prisoner for Debt in the Sheriff's Ward or Prison in and for the County of Devon, hereby gives Notice, that he intends to take the Benefit of the late Act of Parliament made for Relief of Insolvent Debtors, at the next General or Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be held for the County of Devon, at the Castle of Exeter, or at the Adjournment that shall happen next after Thirty Days from the Publication hereof viz.
John Langman, late of the city and county of Exon, Hellier.

The following Persons being Prisoners for Debt in the Sheriff's Ward or Prison in and for the County of Devon, hereby give Notice, that they intend to take the Benefit of the late Act of Parliament made for Relief of Insolvent Debtors, at the next General or Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be held for the County of Devon, at the Castle of Exeter, or at the Adjournment that shall happen next after Thirty Days from the Publication hereof, viz.
John Thorne, late of North Moulton in the country of Devon, Yeoman. Robert Hooper, late of Hatherleigh in the said County, Gentleman.

The following Person being a Fugitive for Debt, and beyond the Seas on the 1st of January 1736, and having surrendred himself to the Keeper of the Sheriff's Ward or Prison for the county of Devon, gives Notice, that he intends to take the Benefit of the late Act for the Relief of Insolvent Debtors, at the next General or Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be held in and for the said County, viz.
John Parminter, late of Barnstable in the county of Devon, Merchant.

The following Persons being Prisoners for Debt in the Sheriffs Ward or Prison at Southgate, within the City and County of the City of Exon, hereby give Notice, that they intend to take the Benefit of the late Act of Parliament for Relief of Insolvent Debtors, at the next General or Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be held at the Guildhall of the said City of Exon, or at the Adjournment thereof, next after thirty Days from the Publication hereof, viz.
Thomas Hughes, late of the City of Exon, Carpenter. William Jones, late of the said City of Exon, Tailor.

The following Person being a Fugitive for Debt in the Prison of Ludgate, within the City of London, gives Notice that he intends to take the Benefit of the late Act of Parliament made for Relief of Insolvent Debtors, at the next General or Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be held at Guildhall, in and for the said City, or the Adjournment thereof, next after 30 Days from the Publication hereof, viz.
John Lavers, late of Hallwell in the county of Devon, Farmer or Justman holder.

The following Person being a Fugitive for Debt, and beyond the Seas on the 1st of January 1736,and having surrendred himself to the Keeper of the Sheriff's Ward or Prison for the county of Devon, gives Notice, that he intends to take the Benefit of the late Act for the Relief of Insolvent Debtors, at the next General or Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be held in and for the said County, viz.
Anthony Mason, late of Exon in the county of Devon, Carpenter.

The undermentioned Person being a Fugitive for Debt, and beyond the Seas on the first Day of January 1736, and having surrendred herself to the Keeper of the Sheriff's Ward or Prison of and for the county of Devon, gives Notice, that she intends to take the Benefit of the late Act of Parliament for Relief of Insolvent Debtors, at the next General or Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be held in and for the said County of Devon, or at the Adjournment thereof, next after thirty days from the Publication hereof, viz.
Joanna Crocker, late of Viniton in the county of Devon, Shopkeeper.

London Gazette - Issue 7750 published on the 31 October 1738

The Creditors of Charles Hall, late of Woodbury, in Devonshire, Mariner, discharged for Debt out of the Sheriff's Ward for the said County, by a late Act of Parliament, intitled, An Act for Relief of Insolvent Debtors, are to take Notice, that the Assignees intend to make a Dividend of the said Charles Hall's Estate and Effects, on Wednesday the 6th of December next, at Twelve o'Clock at Noon, at the Swan in High Street, in the City of Exeter; and the said Creditors are then and there to bring Proof of their respective Debts as the said Act directs.

The following Person being a Fugitive for Debt, and beyond the Seas on the 1st of January 1736, and going to surrender himself to the Keeper of the Sheriff's Prison for the County of Devon, was arrested for Debt, and carried to the said Sheriff's Prison, where he now remains a Prisoner; gives Notice, that he intends to take the Benefit of the late Act for Relief of Insolvent Debtors, at the next General or Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be held in and for the said County of Devon, or at the Adjournment thereof, that shall happen next after thirty Days from the Publication hereof, viz.
Richard Dunning, late of the Parish of Winckley in the county of Devon, Gentleman.
