"NETHER EXE, a parish in the hundred of Hayridge, county Devon, 4 miles N.E. of Exeter, its post town. It is situated on the river Exe. The, parish is of small extent, and the village consists of only a few farmhouses. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Exeter, value £68, in the patronage of eight feoffees.
