NETHER-EXE, a parish in the hundred of HAYRIDGE, county of DEVON, 5 miles (N. by, E.) from Exeter, containing 103 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Exeter, endowed with £200 private benefaction, £600 royal bounty, and £500 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the Earl of Ilchester and the Hon. Percy Wyndham. The river Exe bounds the parish on the west.
