Transcribers notes:
Censuses prior to 1841 only dealt with population statistics, not individual people. This single sheet document is entitled “Copy of the Population Return of 1831”.
It consists of two charts, neither of which has a title, although the second chart obviously deals with the quantity of different types of tradesmen, but it does not state whether this is for Appledore, or Northam, or both.
The first chart has a number of columns, none of which have a title, but it might be assumed these relate to Appledore and Northam, with totals for each of these. I have no suggestion as to what the quantities in the second column refer to.
