History of Plymouth from the earliest period to the present time (Chapters X - XVII)
Plymouth: W Brendon & Sons (1871) vi, 343 pp.
by
Richard Nicholls Worth
Prepared by Michael Steer
The author devoted much of his spare time to investigating the history and geology of the west of England. Patient and exact, disliking hasty theorising, he did much for the history, archaeology, and geology of Devon and Cornwall. He was twice president of the Plymouth Association, and in 1891 of the Devonshire Association. This History of Plymouth follows his highly successful History of Devonport. This rare and much sought-after book was produced digitally by Google from a copy in the Harvard University Library collection and can be downloaded from HathiTrust. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
