PLYMTREE, a parish in the hundred of HAYRIDGE, county of DEVON, 3½ miles (S. E. by S.) from Cullompton, containing 381 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £21. 18. 1., and in the patronage of the Provost and Fellows of Oriel College, Oxford. The church, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, has an elegant gilt wooden screen and an octagonal stone font.
