RATTERY, a parish in the hundred of STANBOROUGH, county of DEVON, 4¼ (W. N. W.) from Totness, containing 559 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Totness, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £14. 10., and in the patronage of Sir H. Carew, Bart. The church has an elegant wooden screen, and a Norman font. A vein of lead-ore has been discovered in this parish.
