SHERFORD

"SHERFORD, a parish in the hundred of Coleridge, county Devon, 3 miles E. of Kingsbridge, its post town. The village, which is of small extent, is wholly agricultural. The parish contains the hamlets of Frogmore and Kennedon. The living is a curacy annexed to the vicarage of Stokenham, in the diocese of Exeter. The church, dedicated to St. Martin, is a stone structure, with a square tower containing five bells. The interior contains a carved screen. The parochial charities produce about £4 per annum for seamen's widows."
