SHERFORD, a parish in the hundred of COLERIDGE, county of DEVON, 3¼ miles (E.) from Kingsbridge, containing 429 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Stokenham, in the archdeaconry of Totness, and diocese of Exeter. The church, dedicated to St. Martin, contains some good screen-work. Attached to an old farm-house at Kennedon are some remains of the manorial seat of Justice Hals, who lived in the reign of Henry V.
