In the Name of God Amen I Edward Searle of Sidbury in the County of Devon Gentleman being weak in Body but of sound understanding do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say in the ffirst Place I bequeath my soul to God and my Body to the Earth to be decently interred and as to my Worldly Estate I dispose thereof as followeth ffirst I give my Grand Daughter Sarah the Wife of William Walrond Esquire one hundred Pounds Also I will and direct that my Wife shall have and enjoy all my Copyhold Estates within the said Parish of Sidbury during her Widowhood and no longer Also I give unto my said Wife all my In Door and Out Door Goods and also all my Quick Stock now on my said Copyhold Estates and also the Sum of two hundred Pounds all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Lands Tenements Estate & Rights Credits Chattels and Effects not herein before given I give devise and bequeath unto my son Edward Searle his Heirs Executors and Administrators whom I do hereby make ordain Constitute and Appoint whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby revoke all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this fifth day of May and in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty three The Mark X of Edward Searle
