I Robert Chown of Sidbury in the County of Devon, yeoman being of a sound mind & perfect memory and clear understanding do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say;
I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Robert Chown of Furze Hill in the parish of Sidbury in the County of Devon all and singular my household goods and chattles money securities for money and all other my effects whatsoever and wheresoever upon trust, that is to say, 
Upon trust in the first place as soon as convenient after my decease to sell and dispose of so much of my goods and other effects as will be necessary to pay off and discharge all my just debts and funeral expences. 
Then upon trust to take care and manage all the remainder of my money interest for money and other effects whatsoever for the sole use and benefit of my beloved wife Betty Chown for her maintenance and support during her natural life
And from and after her death, then upon trust to sell and dispose of all my goods and chattles and to call in all my monies and to pay within six months after the decease of my said wife to my daughter Sarah Aplin if living at the time forty pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain but if dead the said forty pounds to be equally divided between her children share and share alike.
I also give and bequeath unto my said son Robert Chown the sum of twenty pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain for all journeys and expences that may be incurred by him of and concerning the said Trust.
I also give and bequeath all my wife’s clothes and silver spoons unto my three daughters Mary Priddis, Sarah Aplin and Ann Broom to be equally divided between them share and share alike, but if either of them should be dead the said share or shares shall be equally divided between the daughters of her or them deceased. 
Then upon trust to share and divide all the rest residue and remainder of all my money and effects amongst my sons and daughters share and share alike except Elizabeth Warry to whom I give and bequeath the sum of one shilling and no more, but if any or either of my said sons and daughters shall happen to die before their mother, my said wife, then his her or their share to be divided between his, her or their children, share and share alike. 
And lastly I do hereby constitute make and ordain the said Robert Chown my said son sole executor of this my last Will and Testament upon the trust aforesaid.
 And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke disannul and make void all and every other former Wills Testaments Legacies Bequests and Executors by me in any wise before named willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament.
In witness I hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six.
Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Testator Robert Chown to be his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us
