Richard Crimp of South Huish in the County of Devon, Farmer one of the
Executors in Trust named in the last Will and Testament (A) of William Jarvis late of Galmpton within the parish of South Huish aforesaid yeoman who died on or about the Ninth Day of September 1825 (B) maketh Oath and saith that (C) he has made diligent search and due enquiry after and in respect of the Personal Estate and Effects if the said Deceased, in order to ascertain the full amount of value thereof; and that to the best of his knowledge, information and belief, the whole of the Goods, Chattels, and Credits, of which the said Deceased died possessed, within the (D) Archdeaconry of Totnes, in the Province of Canterbury, (exclusive of what the Deceased may have been possessed of, or intitled to as a Trustee for any other Person or Persons, and not beneficially, but including the Leasehold Estates for years, of the Deceased, whether absolute or determinable on Lives, and without deducting anything on account of the Debts due and owing from the Deceased) are under the value of One Hundred Pounds and this Deponent further (E) saith that the said Deceased had (F) no Personal Estate and Effects at the time of his decease within the Province of York to which he this Deponent (G) need to Administer.

Every such Affidavit to be exempt from Stamp Duty, and to be transmitted to the Commissioners of Stamps, together with a Copy of the Will to which it shall relate, under Penalty of £50.

The Last Will and Testament of me William Jarvis of Galmpton within the Parish of South Huish in the County of Devon yeoman made this seventh day of June in the Year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty five in manner following (that is to say) First I will and that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be fully paid and discharges. Also I give and devise unto Richard Crimp of South Huish aforesaid farmer all that field and clove of land called or commonly known by the name of Broadway containing by calculations two acres and situate in the Parish of South Huish aforesaid To hold the same with the appurtenances with the said Richard Crimp his heirs and assigns forever he the Richard Crimp paying there out unto my son William Jarvis the sum of Forty Five Pounds of lawful money of Great Britain and unto my son William Weymouth Jarvis a like sum of Forty five pounds of like lawful money and unto my daughter in law Rebecca the widow of my late son Joseph Jarvis the sum of Nineteen Guineas of the lawful money for the education and bringing up her children Provided always that in case the said Richard Crimp shall neglect or refuse to pay the said [....] sums of Forty Five Pounds to each of my sons and nineteen Guineas to my Daughter in law so charges on the said field or close of land as aforesaid for the share of three months next after my decease. Then and in that case I do hereby revoke annul and make now the aforesaid devise of the said field or close of land to the said Richard Crimp and I do hereby give and devise the said field or close of land unto my said sons William Jarvis and William Weymouth Jarvis To hold the same with the appurtenances unto them the ? William Jarvis and William Weymouth Jarvis their heirs and assign forever they paying the rent unto my said daughter in law Rebecca Jarvis the sum of nineteen Guineas of lawful money of Great Britain within one month next after they shall become entitled to the said field or close of land. Also I give and bequeath unto my said son William Jarvis all that my cellar at Hope in the parish of South Huish aforesaid To Hold the same with appurtenances unto my said son William Jarvis his heirs and assigns forever. Also I give and bequeath unto my said son William Jarvis all the part and [....] Which I have in a fishing net or sein at Hope aforesaid Also I give and devise unto my said son William Weymouth Jarvis and the said Richard Crimp all that [ Me..ange] Tenement and dwelling house situate at Galmpton aforesaid together with the Orchard herb gardens and [........] thereunto belonging and also the garden [....] a decayed dwelling house and all other my lands and heiritaments situate in or near Galmpton aforesaid to hold the same with their respective appurtenances unto the said William Weymouth Jarvis and Richard Crimp their heirs and assigns forever Upon the Trust and to and for the use hereinafter expressed that is to say Upon Trust to pay the rents and profits of the said premises unto my daughter Mary or otherwise to permit and suffer her to receive and take the same to said for her own use and benefit ( The W of William Jarvis) during the term of her natural life separate and apart from her present or any future husband and so as that the same shall not be liable to the control debts or engagements and from and immediately after the decease of my said daughter Mary Then to the use of such person or persons for such Estates and in each manner and form in all respects as my said daughter Mary shall by her last Will and Testament or any writing purporting to be her last Will and Testament give or devise the same And in default of each such gift or devise To the use of all and every the children whether natural or lawful of my said daughter Mary she may be living at the time of her decease their heirs and assigns share and share alike equally between them as tenants in common and not as joint tenants. Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Patience River one [......] [.......] or half part of all my two leasehold dwelling houses Orchards and herb gardens situate at Batson in the parish of Malborough in the County of Devon for and during all my leasehold interest therein. Also I give and bequeath unto the said William Weymouth Jarvis and Richard Crimp all the remaining security of the said dwelling houses Orchards and herb gardens . And also all the rest residue and remainder of my money securities for money real personal and testamentary Estate and effects of what nature or kind so ever Upon trust never the less and to and for the sole and separate benefit and disposal of my daughter Mary apart from her present or any future husband and so as that the same shall be in no respect subject or liable to his control debts or engagements Provides always and my will and meaning is and I do hereby expressly charge all the [...hold.] and other property given in trust for my said daughter Mary to and with the maintenance of my Grand children Mary Ann Grigg and Nancy Grigg until they shall attain their respective ages of twenty one years and upon their attaining that age to pay to each of them respectively the sum of Ten Pounds. Also I give and bequeath one elm tree out of those now growing at Galmpton to be selected by him unto my said son William Jarvis And I do hereby Will and direct that my said daughter Mary shall have full power and authority to dispose of the freehold and other property given or in trust for her by this my will by any deed or will properly executed by her for that purpose and which deed or bill I do hereby declare she shall have full power and authority to make [.....................]
Her present or any future [......]. And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said William Weymouth Jarvis and Richard Crimp sole Executors of this my last will and testament Upon the trust aforesaid In witness whereof I have to this my Will written on this sheet of paper at my hand and seal that this is to say my only to the first and my hand and seal to this last sheet thereof the day and Year before me written~~~~~~~~~
