Elizabeth Hackwill of Saint Giles in the Wood in the County of Devon Widow
Executrix named in the last Will and Testament of John Hackwill late of Saint Giles in the said Wood County aforesaid and Archdeaconry of Barnstaple, Yeaman who died on the twenty fifth Day of July 1833 maketh Oath and saith that she hath made diligent search and due enquiry after and in respect of the personal Estate and Effects of the said Deceased, in order to ascertain the full Amount and value thereof; and that to the best of her knowledge, information, and belief, the whole of the Goods, Chattels, and Credits, of which the said Deceased died possessed, (exclusive of what the Deceased may have been possessed of, or entitled to as a Trustee for any other Person or Persons, and not beneficially, but including the Leasehold Estate for years of the Deceased, whether absolute or determinable on Lives, and without deducting anything on account of the Debts due and owing from the Deceased) are under the Value of Six hundred pounds

In the name of God Amen I John Hackwill of the Parish of St Giles in the County of Devon Yeoman being of sound mind do make and declare this to be my last Will & Testament.
I give and bequeath to Thomas Brinsmead of St Giles and William Brinsmead of the parish of Gt. Torrington the sum of three hundred pounds in trust toand forthe use and benefit of my two children John Hackwill and Thomas Brinsmead Hackwill to be equally divided when the attain the age of twenty one years and if one should die before the age of twenty one years the whole to go to the survivor and if both should die before the said age of twenty years I then give five pounds to John Hackwill, son of Wm Hackwill of Gt. Torrington - I give unto my son John Hackwill my Gun and to my son Thomas Brinsmead Hackwill my watch.
All the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Chattles and Estate whatsever I give and bequeath to my Wife Elizabeth hackwill whom I hereby constitute and appoint whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament Given under my hand and seal this 21 day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four.
