The Note refers to a response by Oswald J Reichel (vol. VII, p.73) to a Note (p. 136, vol, VI) by Edward Windeatt about the private chapel of Waddeton Court on the site of a medieval chapel founded in 1213. Both Notes have been transcribed and are available in Genuki Devon’s Church History section for Stoke Gabriel. Waddeton Court is the seat of the Studdy family. Henry Studdy was the founder of the Royal Dart Yacht Club in 1866 when it had club rooms in the Royal Dart Hotel qv, until its own premises were built in 1881. The article, from a copy of a rare and much sought-after journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.

Note 82. WADETON COURT CHAPEL (VII., par. 43, p. 73). - Pole, p. 284, says "that this portion of Martin Fissacre's land fell " (I suppose at his death, date not given) "to Jone, his daughter and co-heir, who married John Holway"; under his name at the head of the pedigree Tuckett has added "Temp. Henry V."; so taking the last year of that reign as 1422, there are six years to be accounted for. I have been unable to find the date of his death, but possibly he may have lived out the whole or part of that time.         F. W.
