TEMPLETON, a parish in the hundred of WITHERIDGE, county of DEVON, 5 miles (W. by N.) from Tiverton, containing 198 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £8. 15., and in the patronage of Sir W. T. Pole, Bart. The church is dedicated to St. Margaret. Mary Carwithen, in 1741, left a small sum for the education of poor children.
