THURLESTONE, a parish in the hundred of STANBOROUGH, county of DEVON, 4½ miles (W. by S.) from Kingsbridge, containing 426 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Totness, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £25. 10., and in the patronage of B. G. Buller, Esq.. The parish is bounded on the north-west by the river Avon, and on the south-west by the English channel.
