Will of Margaret Knight, Widow of Topsham

In the Name of God Amen I Margaret Knight Widow of the Parish of Topsham in the County of Devon being of a perfect mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament Item I give and bequeath unto my Sister Susannah Leach whom I do hereby constitute and appoint Executrix All my Plate Linen and Household Goods and all my monies and Securities for money she shall during her natural life have and take the Interest thereof for her own use after her death I give to my Nephew the Revd John Leach and to his Wife five pounds each to his Son John Leach and to his Daughter Sarah Susannah Leach Children by his first Wife five pounds to each and to Susannah Knight Sister to my late Husband ten pounds Item I give to my Nephew the Revd John Leach In trust for his Children by his second Wife namely Thomas Matilda and Edwin after the death of my said Sister Susannah Leach all my moneys and other my Effects the income of which is to be bestowed in their Education after my Legacys are paid and to be equally divided between them at a proper time after they come of age and in case either should happen to die then to go to the Survivor And I do empower my said Sister Susannah Leach if she has sufficient reason to chuse other trust for the Children But who so proper as a Parent to discharge the duty of a Parent I do declare this to be my last Will and Testament And I do hereto set my hand and Seal this second day of ffebruary One thousand seven hundred and eighty nine Mary Knight
