TORBRYAN, a parish in the hundred of HAYTOR, county of DEVON, 4 miles (S. W. by S.) from Newton-Bushell, containing 277 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Totness, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £20. 14. 7., and in the patronage of J. Wolston, Esq. The church, dedicated to the Holy Trinity, has an elegant wooden screen, and an enriched-pulpit, also of wood.
