Gods Will be done I Thomas Pullin of Uplowman in the County of Devon Gentleman do make my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)

I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Mary and her assignees for and during the term of her natural life one annuity or clear yearly rent or sum of ten pounds of lawful money of Great Britain free of all Taxes and other deductions parliamentary or otherwise 

And I subject charge and make liable my Lands and Tenements and also my money Goods chattels and Personal Estate to and with the payment of the said annuity of ten pounds and all costs charges and expences which shall be incurred by my said wife on receiving the payment thereof which annuity of ten pounds I give to my said wife over and above what she is or will be entitled to under my marriage settlement with her. 

Also I give and bequeath unto my son Hugh Pullin the sum of one hundred pounds to be paid and payable to him within one year next after my decease

Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah the sum of five hundred pounds to be paid and payable to her at the age of twenty one years And I direct that she shall have Interest at the rate of five per cent on the said sum of five hundred pounds from my death until the same sum shall become payable as aforesaid 

Also I give devise and bequeath all my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments and also all my Goods Chattels Money and Personal Estate of every sort and description unto my good friends Samuel Chave and Mark Farrant their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assignees forever Subject nevertheless and charged and chargeable to and with the aforesaid annuity and Legacies and also to the payment of my just Debts and funeral expences

That nevertheless for the benefit and advantage of my two sons Robert and James their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assignees forever as Tenants in Common and not as joint Tenants And in case of the death of either of them the said Robert and James before attaining the age of twenty one years then my said Trustees shall hold and possess any said Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments and also my Goods Chattels money and personal Estate in such case thereof shall not be paid applied or disposed of in payment of the aforesaid annuity and Legacies and funeral Expences and Debts that nevertheless for the benefit of the survivor of them the said Robert and James his Heir Executor Administrator and Assignee forever 

Subject to the payment of the sum of Two hundred pounds to my said son Hugh within one year next after the decease of each of them the said Robert and James as shall die under the said age of twenty one years 

And in case of the deaths of both of them the said Robert and James before twenty one then I give my said Messuage Lands Tenements and Hereditaments and also my said Goods Chattels Money and Personal Estate or such part as shall not be paid applied or disposed of for the purposes aforesaid unto my said son Hugh Pullin his Heirs Executor Administrator and Assignee forever subject nevertheless to the payment of five hundred pounds to my said daughter Sarah which sum o five hundred pounds in that case I give to my said daughter in addition to what I have given hereinbefore given to her to be paid and payable within six months next after the deaths of my said Sons Robert and James they both dying under the age of twenty one years aforesaid 

And lastly I appoint the said Samuel Chave and Mark Farrant Guardians of the Fortune and Person of each of my said Children as are under age And I also appoint them joint Executors aforesaid of this my last Will and Testament herby revoking all other by me at any time heretofore made 

And I direct that my said Trustees shall not be answerable for any accidental loss and that they and each of them shall reimburse themselves all loss charges and expenses which he or they shall be at or out unto in the execution of the Trusts of this my Will 

In Witness whereof I have hereunto and to the preceding sheet upon which my last Will and Testament is written set my hand and seal the twenty fifth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen

Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Thomas Pullin the testator for and to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other of us have subscribed our names as Witnesses hereto

This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Pullin of Uplowman in the County of Devon Gentleman which bears date the twenty eighth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen 

First I revoke the legacy given to my son Hugh Pullin of one hundred pounds and do give and bequeath to my said son Hugh Pullin in lieu thereof the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds to be paid to him within six months after my decease

Also I give to my daughter in the event of the death of both my sons Robert and James under the age of twenty one years the sum of three hundred pounds in lieu the sum of two hundred pounds which in that event I have given to her by my said Will which sum of three hundred pounds I direct shall lie paid and payable to her within six months after the death of the survivor of my said two sons Robert and James under age as aforesaid

Also I give to my wife from and after the death of my late Father widows that part of the house and garden belonging to my Farm or Barton called Uplowman Court in which my said Father Widows now resides, to hold the same with my said wife for and during her natural life without impeachment of waste except voluntary waste in houses and buildings

Also I give to my said wife all the goods and furniture belonging to me which now remain in that part of the said house and premises to hold to my said wife absolutely after the death of my said fathers widow 

And further I do hereby and authorize and empower my Trustees Samuel Chave and Mark Farrant to permit and suffer my wife to hold occupy and possess any farm and lands now occupied by me And all my cattle stock utensils and implements thereon from my death until one of my said younger children shall attain the age of twenty one years upon such term and terms and in such manner as they my said trustees shall think fit regard being had to the best management thereof for the benefit and advantage of my family

And I direct my Trustees and devisees to keep the part of the house which I have given my wife in good tenantable upkeep during her life and in all other respects I do hereby ratify and confirm my said Will

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen
