by

W.J. Coppard

In Exeter Diocesan Architectural Soc. Trans. 1 ser, v. 4, (1853) illus. pp.298-303.

Prepared by Michael Steer

The church of St Werburgh is picturesquely sited above Wembury beach in the Hundred of Plympton, with views over the Yealm Estuary and Mewstone, and surrounded by National Trust land. It serves the parish of Wembury, including Down Thomas and Heybrook Bay. The Rev W J Coppard was the incumbent of St Mary's Church, Plympton. He was also Rural Dean of Plympton. Kelly's 1973 Directory indicates that the West window of the church at Plympton is dedicated to his memory. This paper was delivered at the Society's Quarterly meeting, held at College Hall, Exeter on July 27, 1852 This rare book was produced from a digital copy held by the University of Michigan Library that can be downloaded from Google Books. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. Those on which copyright has expired are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
