Note on a Court Roll of Hulham Manor

Trans. Devon. Assoc. Vol 22 (1890), pp. 240-249.

by

Sir J.B. Phear

Prepared by Michael Steer

Hulham, anciently called Holdeham is a small manor in the northern part of the ancient Chapelry of Withycombe Raleigh, within the parish of East Budleigh. The paper, read at the Association's 1890 Barnstaple meeting is an examination of four Rolls from Court proceedings held at the Manor during the 28th and 29th years of Elizabeth's reign. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the University of Michigan Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
