Edward Fisher of Abbotsbury, Newton Abbot, as the son of Edward Fisher of Ashby de la Zouche, and a descendant from Thomas Fisher of Caldecott Hall, Leicestershire. He was born at Ashby in 1828. He was a devoted student of Archaeology and Architecture; and a great lover of art in all its branches. He was of retiring habits and spent a great deal of time in his library or in his garden, of which he was very fond. He was a member of several Archaeological Societies, and became a member of this Association in 1873. He died, July 31st 1875 at his residence in Abbotsbury, aged 66 years.
