"BELLCHALWELL, a parish, in the union of STURMINSTER, hundred of CRANBORNE, Sturminster division of DORSET, 8 miles (W. N. W.) from Blandford-Forum, containing 225 inhabitants, and comprising 1308 acres, of which 222 are common or waste. The living is a discharged rectory, united in 1776 to the rectory of Fifehead-Neville, and valued in the king's books at £7. 15.
