"FAIRSTED, a parish in the hundred of WITHAM, county of ESSEX, 4 miles (W. N. W.) from Witham, containing 263 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Colchester, and diocese of London, rated in the king's, books at £6. 13. 4., and, in the patronage of the Bishop of London.
