"INWORTH, a parish in the Witham division of the hundred of LEXDEN, county of ESSEX, 1½ mile (S. E.) from Kelvedon, containing 437 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Colchester, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £10. Thomas Poynder, Esq. was patron in 1802. The church, dedicated to All Saints, is remarkable for a small ancient porch on the south side, composed of a mixture of Roman bricks and flints."
