"LANGFORD, a parish in the hundred of THURSTABLE, county of ESSEX, 2 miles (N. by W.) from Maldon containing 251 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Colchester, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £10. 4. 9½. Mrs. Westcomb was patroness in 1813. The church is dedicated to St. Giles.
