"MANEWDEN, a parish in the hundred of CLAVERING, county of ESSEX, 2½ miles (N.W.) from Stanstead-Mountfitchet, containing 656 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Colchester, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £14. The Rev. H. Marsh and others were patrons in 1803.
