"MUNDON, a parish in the hundred of DENGIE, county of ESSEX, 3¾ miles (S. E. by S.) from Maldon, containing 309 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Essex, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £13, and in the patronage of the King, as Duke of Lancaster. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. The parish is bounded on the north by Blackwater river, which is navigable."
